Himalayan Corporate Retreats – Emotional Awareness

The first time you stand looking at the Himalayan mountains you just can’t believe how small you are. Suddenly, you realise you’re a grain of sand on a million beaches, you, and the rest of us will, after we perish, be forgotten in two or three generations of the millions that come and go on earth.

We think we are irreplaceable, the centre of the universe and therefore the cause of everything that happens around us.

At night, the stars are awesome in the Himalayas, no city lights to confuse the view. Gratitude just to breathe, to see and feel this awesome experience. All our defensive anger about the injustices of life vanish, we’re just happy to be alive.

One of the most powerful insights any leader can have is to understand the difference between inspiration and motivation, between management and leadership and, in an

identical jump of realisation, between love and romance. It all leads to the powerful discovery that the very same skill that makes a leader a success at work can destroy their relationship. We need to understand emotion better.
