“I just feel like we could be doing more for the world. I’m nowhere near creating the global impact I want to deliver. I’m a great business and life coach, arguably the world’s best, I deliver keynotes, I’ve helped start, build and sell many business’. But there’s so much more I’d love to do. I’m the author of 30 books, 3,000 podcasts and 00’s of blogs. There’s a bunch of videos on youtube too. But change is hard. And the world will only hear what it’s ready to hear. So, even that’s body of work is not enough to create a mass consciousness that helps people live in tune with nature’s laws. Emotions run the world and they always have. They run religions and art and romance. If you go to Facebook and watch the news and read comments under a news items you witness the extraordinary ignorance of human emotions. Recently I started another project with Troy Jones, Change One Change All, to expand the reach of my work into family homes. And the feedback is amazing, It makes me realise the gap between Nature’s Universal Laws and human emotional attachment is much wider than i thought. I don’t want to run down the idea of compassion: it’s fine, it’s great, it’s important. But it also enables incredible self-sabotage. That’s a lot of avoidable hurt. So, every day I wake up excited to come up with new ways to help people. Like taking 57 groups to the high Himalayas. But introducing a world changing thought process needs a social media energy. Change is easy when everyone else is doing it. We think we are what we think so we hold onto it unless everyone else is shifting. We get really defensive about what we think when there are people around us to validate, authenticate and enable it. That’s why we need to see the two sides of compassion. One is soft and kind. The other is tough love. If we get enabled to think emotionally, we get out of balance and enabled to be ignorant. While emotions are positive we say great, and when they turn negative we cry. But you can’t have one without the other. Attachment to emotions positive means we have to live with the negative too. The buddha once said “tell them what they want to hear until they are ready to hear what you want to tell them.” Mass consciousness enables emotional polarities. It values emotions more than health or happiness or even love. Mass consciousness likes to be right and is therefore violent. Mass consciousness wants to be emotionally high. It’s so easy to buy into it without even realising. So I have to keep my house in order to deliver a clear message and my thoughts thankful. To be a good coach, a thought leader in the world, to live my purpose to stop the hurt and connect people with nature’s laws, I have to do an incredible amount just to take care of myself. And it feels shameful sometimes when emotions get to me. I feel not grown up. Like I should have learned all of this so long ago. And I’m afraid that if people knew that I too struggle with my emotions they will think it’s pathetic. Worse than that. They’ll think I’m incapable. But emotions evolve us, it’s not about keeping a lot hidden. It’s about process. I don’t want to download emotions on my partner because she’s got her own to deal with in her life. I don’t want her to become an enabler. And that’s one thing I work on— not keeping things bottled up. Instead I process anything that makes me sad, angry or depressed. Because I know this emotional stuff isn’t healthy. It isn’t right. I’m lucky. A Luckyfkr. I’ve been working all over the world for 40 years. I have this amazing and honest, the greatest connection to nature for my whole life. I’ve hit emotional rock bottom many times and relate to those who do too. But lucky for me, nobody enabled me through compassion to stay down. Nobody felt sorry for me, so I couldn’t. That’s an important part of coaching. Not feeling sorry for people. Nature got me through every emotional turmoil in my life. I’ve also hit the highest peaks, and nature helped me stay me while I rode up there. Good things, done without emotion, like my first book Innerwealth, written with love is now 22 years old and still sells well on Amazon. I’m committed to being the voice of nature. I don’t care if it’s one person or 10,000 people I’m speaking to. Whatever I do, without emotion, I do from my heart. I turn up 100%. And that’s making a difference. I don’t hide my emotions, I process my emotions. And being open to my own emotions and feelings has helped many people who have closed down or denied their feelings. Because once we all see that we are not what we think, we focus on how we think. And if we think in balance, we are inspired, guided and in love with life.”
